10 TRICKS AND SECRETS…
How many times have we come across commercial photographs of hamburgers, ice creams, pizzas, to have bought the product and see that the reality is far from those appetizing products?

The wonderful dishes we see in the photos are not always real.
In my shots I always try to photograph reality, but often I have to use tricks to make food more appetizing. tweezers, shaving foam, pins, dyes, wadding are just some of the materials used to camouflage reality!
When we can't take natural photos, we have to resort to some tricks. Let's see some of them:
Basil and peeling spray
Basil leaves turn black when we try to wet them with oil or water. How do we make them shiny and green? We can try with the release spray, what is used to detach the cakes from the pan!
Fruits and vegetables
To make it shiny we can spray some glycerin ( or water with glycerin).
Coffee or steaming drink
I use palosanto because when it lights up it makes a nice smoke. Just put it behind the cup and with your hand move the smoke towards the cup and you're done. I made a short by the way, take a look.
Glass with ice
When we have to photograph a subject that has ice, the difficulty we encounter is that the ice… it melts and begins to wet the whole set. There is a remedy and that is to use fake ice! I also made a video about this trick.
Ice-cream
As for the ice, ice cream is also a puzzle! It is normal for ice cream not to keep its consistency and to melt after a few minutes. In commercial photos, actual ice cream is almost never used. But you make a pulp with flour, milk and coloring for sweets. Want to try? Watch the video
Shaving foam
Photographing a piece of cake with cream inside and seeing it fall slowly is very complicated for those who want to photograph! What to do? Shaving cream is usually used .

Soft and tempting pancakes
Pancakes if we were to photograph them as they actually appear as a solid and flat whole. One trick is to put cardboard circles of the same size as the pancake between one pancake and another. This creates extra space which allows it to appear light and fluffy.

Baked chicken.
Before photographing it, brush it with oil. Some even brush it with paint, but I think the oil is just fine.
Foamy beer
Here too there is always the problem of time. The foam goes away easily. One remedy is to add dish soap to the beer. Add a splash of detergent before pouring the beer. It will look very inviting, ma… don't drink it!

A nice bowl of cereal with milk
If we photographed reality, the photograph would appear flat! What to do then? Instead of milk we use vinyl glue!
